Shoecare
Your Emotion shoes will last longer if you take care of them. The majority of Emotion shoes and boots have been treated with a protective coating before they leave the factory. However, this is not permanent. So please follow our advice on how to care for your shoes.
General
- Regular use of a Scotchguard™ type protector spray will help to guard against staining and water penetration. Always follow the manufacturers instructions on the product. However, a protector spray will not make your shoes waterproof.
- Wet shoes should always be left to dry naturally.
- The use of a shoe horn will prevent damage to the backs of your shoes.
- The use of shoe trees and boot shapers will maintain the shape of your shoes/boots when not being worn.
Leather Uppers
- Leather shoes need regular cleaning a wax polishes or shoe cream.
- Wipe over lightly with a damp sponge and allow to dry naturally.
- Polish shoes by applying a good quality polish/cream. Select the closest colour to your shoes, if in doubt use a natural shade.
- Allow to dry naturally, then Buff using gentle strokes with a soft brush, taking care not to rub too hard.
Suede / Nubuck Uppers
- Never apply any cream or polish.
- To clean gently brush off and remove loose dirt and mud, wipe with a damp sponge and allow to dry naturally.
- When dry, use a suede or nubuck brush to restore the nap.
- If seriously soiled or stained try using a piece of sticky tape wrapped around your fingers, gently stroking across the shoe, then brush to restore the nap.
- Please note, nubuck and suede leathers cannot be guaranteed colourfast and you may experience some colour seepage.
